Day 10 - 19.12.2025 - Huddinge (nr Stockholm) to Near Umeå

Another rough night, so after 5 hours-ish of sleep, up, showered, breakfast and packed and left at 08:15.

Traffic was a bit busy around Stockholm, but as we headed north it started raining - the first rain we have seen since setting off.

Stop 1 - 09:24 for 25mins - needed a top-up!

 Stop 2 - 12:05 for 32mins - took the opportunity to visit Burger King again - look it's cheap and easy - probably not good for us but we don't have long if we want to arrive at a certain time and they have clean, free toilets!

It was at this point in the journey that we started to notice snow in the corners of fields and car parks etc.

The temperature remained about 5 or 6°C all day, but there were definite signs of snow everywhere - also the sky went very cloudy and very dull after this stop.

We had rain, fog, and weird pinky very low clouds and this continued until 14:30 when it finally went dark properly.

Stop 3 - 15:26 for 20mins - we needed the loo more than the car needed a charge!

We finally arrived at the AirBnB at 17:20 and 410miles later, and the approach roads were icy once we came off the motorway. The owner had left us bread, cheese, boiled eggs, cakes - really nice - will get a photo of the place tomorrow before we leave as it's another early start to cross the mountains...
