Day 24 - 02.01.2025 - Oslo to Copenhagen

Woke up before the alarm again this morning at 05:40.
Looked out the bedroom window to this..
It was -5°C and we'd had 2 inches of snow. Not a lot, but with the very steep narrow roads in this old part of Oslo - it was going to be a challenge.
We were all packed and ready by 07:50, and we headed off.
Big Blue was fine going downhill, but when it came to a steep uphill section with a mountainous speed hump, she didn't have the traction. So a quick 3-point turn and found another route that was less steep.
The roads out of Oslo were pretty atrocious, as the gritters and plows only seemed to be on the inbound side not the out!
Anyway off we went!
Above is the main dual-carriageway from Oslo, south, to the Malmö Bridge back to Denmark - fun!
First charge stop was at 11:10 for 14mins and we spent the entire time deciding whether it was too early for lunch and what 'we' wanted... By the time BB was ready to go after the 13mins, we moved 200yards to a Chip shop - a Chinese chain a bit like McDonalds, but for Chinese! It was very quick - 3-4mins to cook and wasn't actually bad! A two main option each with rice and prawn crackers and a drink £23... And it WAS nice - made a change from a burger!
By 12:00 we were back on the road and the snow kept coming and going - and it's effect on the road sometimes made the 2nd lane impassable, other stretches there was hardly a sign..
2nd charge stop was at 13:38 for 27mins - I needed the stop more than BB and whilst she was charging, I walked over to a McDonald's a few hundred meters away and partook of their facilities.
3rd stop we had been to before as it was just before the Malmö Bridge. We arrived at15:55 and was there
36mins.
We stopped so long, because there was no charging at the AirBnB and we hopefully wouldn't be using BB for a couple of days, so needed her to have a decent charge to give us a good head start when we left before having to stop for power.
After we crossed the bridge it started snowing again...
One thing that struck me was different...
When you drive in the dark in snow, you get a 'space leap' effect - like on Star Wars when the Millennium Falcon 'jumps', you get streaks coming towards you, centred on your particular viewpoint - it can become mesmerising and you start to lose focus. Now in BB you get a similar effect, but the blurred lines seem to be above the windscreen and below your head lights, leaving a clear slot the size of your windscreen without the blurred 'jump' lines of snow... God knows why - maybe aerodynamics? But it makes it MUCH easier to drive in.
We arrived at the AirBnB at about 17:30 and settled in and caught up on a bit of washing whilst watching Stranger Things on Netflix...
